Three tourism partners receive CVB awards
The Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s handed out three awards on Feb. 18 during its annual meeting.
The Trailblazer award is presented to a new tourism partner who has shown ingenuity and perseverance in breaking into the local tourism industry. Members need to have been partnered with the CVB for three years or less to be eligible to receive this award. This year’s winner of the Trailblazer award was The River City Farmers Market.
The Legacy award is presented to a tourism partner who has demonstrated a continued commitment to the local tourism industry. Members need to have been partnered with the CVB for five or more years are eligible to receive this award. The recipient of this year’s Legacy award was The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival.
The Tourism Partner of the Year award is presented to the member who has worked closely with the CVB and other community organizations to support the local tourism industry throughout the year. This award truly recognizes the outstanding relationship between one partner and the CVB in promoting the area over the course of the year. This year’s Tourism Partner of the Year was the Friends of the Museums.
All three of the recipients this year were extremely deserving candidates according to Jeri Knowlton, executive director of the Marietta-Washington County CVB. “We all are working to make Marietta- Washington County a distinctive destination and these awards are a way to show our appreciation for the member’s hard work.”
