Relay For Life team sponsors bingo

Williamstown Relay For Life Bingo featuring Longaberger Baskets and Vera Bradley Purses will be held Sunday at the Williamstown American Legion, 100 Central Ave. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and regular games begin at 2:30. There will be early bird games between 1 and 2. There will be door prizes, a 50/50, country store, special $5 game and special drawing for tickets sold before Saturday.

Genealogical Society to meet at library

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Washington County Public Library downstairs meeting room, 615 Fifth St., Marietta. The speaker will be Dr. David Lowe and his topic will be “One Room Schools.” Visitors are welcome.

Valley’s Jobs Fair Thursday at WSCC

The Mid-Ohio Valley Jobs Fair will be held Thursday at Washington State Community College. More than 20 businesses will be represented. Attendees should have a current resume and dress for an interview. Fields represented will include health care, banking, construction, transportation, retail and manufacturing. Washington-Morgan Community Action and Mid-Ohio Valley Veteran Outreach will be available to help qualified workers in Ohio find available employment opportunities. The fair is open at 4 p.m. to Washington State students and to the public from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Sewer repairs in 700 block of Orchard St.

The Marietta Water and Sewer Department will be making a sanitary sewer repair in the area of 712 Orchard St. on Thursday. Orchard Street will be closed to parking and traffic between Walker and Bank streets to allow for equipment and material access. Repairs are expected to be completed on Friday, however partial closure may extend through the weekend.

Board of elections meets Monday

The Washington County Board of Elections will hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Monday to pay bills and review and certify the May 6 Primary Election ballot.
