Free legal clinic offered Wednesday
The Washington County Bar Association and Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will offer a free legal clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta. Walk-ins are welcome. The clinic, where volunteer attorneys offer free legal advice, are held the third Wednesday of each month. Washington County residents unable to afford legal representation (less than 187 percent of the poverty guideline) are eligible.
Traffic down to one lane on Muskingum
The Marietta Street Department will be repairing a retaining wall in the 100/200 blocks of Muskingum Drive on Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly part of Thursday. There will be a message board stating “One Lane Traffic Ahead” to allow equipment and material access to the retaining wall.

$2 bag sale of winter clothing under way
The thrift store of the Western Washington County Food Pantry at 18 High St. in Vincent will be having a $2 bag sale of winter clothing from now until March 27. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursdays. Summer clothing will be ready on April 17.

MC alumnus will give presentation on World War I
Honorary Marietta College alumnus Philip G. Mazzara will return to the college to present, “Great War Reflected by Soldier Poets” at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Hall 113. Historians have said that World War I was one of the most convulsive periods in human history. Mazzara will present that theory, but through a slightly different look at this time in history.
The Department of History, Philosophy and Religion, the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Advancement are sponsoring the event. It is free and open to the public.
Relay For Life team plans Smitty’s Pizza fundraiser Weds.
The Washington Elementary Woven Hearts Relay For Life team will have a Smitty’s Pizza fundraiser on Wednesday, at both the Reno and Marietta locations. Smitty’s Pizza will donate 50 cents to the team for every pizza and sub sold.
