Special bingo event Sunday in Beverly

The Buckeye All Star Boosters will hold Longaberger and Scentsy Bingo Sunday at Beverly-Center Elementary School. Doors open at 1 p.m. and Bingo begins at 2. Early bird tickets are available for $20/20 games. Tickets at the door will be $25/20 games. All proceeds will benefit the Buckeye All Star cheer and dance teams as they compete at nationals in Hershey Park. For tickets contact any cheerleader or call 984-8060.

Hunter education course this weekend

An Ohio Hunter Education Course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Broken Timber Outdoor Education Center, located at the AGI plant site on Ohio 7 in Hannibal. Lunch will be served on Saturday. Call 1-800-WILDLIFE to register.

Included in the training will be basic gun safety, information about the different types of firearms and ammunition, archery, wildlife management, shooting, person safety and survival, game care and hunter responsibility.

Longrifle collectors’ exhibit at Lafayette

The Association of Ohio Longrifle Collectors will hold its 39th annual exhibit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta. The event is primarily an exhibit of historic long rifles. Admission is $5 for adults.

Ceremony tied into abuse awareness

Washington County Children Services will hold a Lights of Hope ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the armory in Marietta. The event is in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

Craft show Saturday at Oak Grove

A vendor/craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Grove Recreation Center, 535 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta. Those interested in being a vendor should call 374-9503.

Reno Water plans public meeting

Reno Water will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. April 8 at the water office at 170 Mount Tom Road for the purpose of discussing employee health insurance and new meters.
