Waterford student wins Bunny Hop T-shirt contest

Tess Teters of Waterford, is the winner in the 12th annual T-shirt design contest for the Beverly-Waterford Bunny Hop 5K. The race is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. on April 19. Teters will be there sporting one of the 700 Bunny Hop T-shirts printed with her design.

Teters is a 10th grade student at Waterford High School in the art class of Beth Smith. An avid art student, she enjoys creating with oil pastels and acrylic paints. She is a sophomore who has already been recognized for her artistic talents as a former Beverly Lions Club District Peace Poster winner. In addition, her artwork was selected and published for the 2014 Marietta Times Art Calendar Contest. About creating her Bunny Hop entry, Teters said, “I like being able to work independently and being able to make my design unique by adding my own personal touch.”

In addition to her art, she is involved in volleyball, basketball and track for Waterford High School. Her favorite class subjects are Spanish and Algebra. She has participated in earlier Bunny Hops and is looking forward to seeing her design on this year’s shirts.

The Beverly Waterford Bunny Hop Run Walk and 5K T-shirt contest are sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 389. Proceeds from the race benefit the Beverly Waterford Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Squad as well as many other American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389 community projects and events. Over the past 11 years, thanks to the continued support of community Lead Sponsors, volunteers and 100s of participants, the race has raised over $40,000 to benefit these important non-profit groups.
