Mary O. Newhart, 88, of Glendale Road, Marietta, died on Thursday (May 1, 2014) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 9, 1926 at Harriettsville, Ohio, to the late Erval and Minnie Bosold Stevens.
She graduated in 1943 from Elk Local High School in Harriettsville. She was employed by Remington Rand, Marietta Concrete and retired from C.H. Heist Corp. after 22 years.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Susanna Circle of the Church. She was a member and past worthy matron of Marietta Chapter #59 Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem #12. Mary was a life member of American Legion Post #64 Auxiliary and V.F.W. Post #1041 Auxiliary.
She married Paul E. Newhart, Oct. 9, 1948 and he died June 17, 2002.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Helen E. Stevens of Marietta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Elmer M. Stevens.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday (May 5, 2014) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with Rev. Don Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday (May 4) at the funeral home where an Eastern Star service will be held at 8 p.m.
