Bible Center offers Mother’s Day service
Myron K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church, will preach Sunday morning, May 11, in the 10 a.m. service. He will bring a special Mother’s Day message. As part of the day to honor mothers, the 101 voice Marietta Bible College choir will sing.
Ntsako Mathivha and Kelsey Ash, students of the Marietta Christian School, will present the dramatic readings for which they received awards at the Christian Schools of Ohio talent competition in Cleveland.
Special mothers will be recognized and honored.
Following the morning service, a special Mother’s Day meal will be served to all who attend.
On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Guiler and the Marietta Bible College choir will travel to the Reimer Road Baptist Church, in Wadsworth, Ohio, where Guiler will preach and the choir will sing. The service will be at 6 p.m. Dr. James Newton, one of the teachers of the Marietta Bible College is the pastor. Dr. John Powell is the Pastor Emeritus of the church.
The Sunday evening service of the Bible Center Church will be at 6 p.m. Philip Fair will preach.

Relay for Life walk in Belpre on May 17
A Relay for Life Walk will be sponsored by the three Belpre Methodist churches starting at 5 p.m. on May 16 and ending at noon on May 17 at Belpre Civitan Park. Checks to walk should be sent as soon as possible made out to Belpre Heights U.M. Church and will then be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Marietta church’s strawberry festival
First Congregational Church in Marietta will be holding their strawberry festival from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 18. The church is located at 318 Front St., Marietta. There will be a sandwich lunch with strawberry or peach shortcake to eat in or take out. The cost is $6 for adults and $5 for children 7 and under. There sill be ala carte items, baked goods, jellies and strawberries for sale and face painting for children.

North Hills now at 50 years
North Hills Baptist Church is celebrating its 50th church anniversary on May 25 at 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Terrell Moore will be the speaker for the morning service. Moore was a Southern Baptist pastor and church planter helping to start five churches in five Ohio counties. He was a North American Missionary from Ohio and served as the missions director for the East Central/Southeastern Ohio for over 30 years. Everyone is welcome to this special occasion. Dog Days of May in Belpre
Belpre Heights United Methodist Church will be hosting their annual Dog Days of May on May 31 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Dr. Schooley, DMV from the Belpre Animal Clinic will be there from 1 to 2 p.m. to give rabies shots and place micro chips at a reduced cost. The Humane Society will be in attendance with animals, and someone to show trained dogs and what they accomplish. Other pet information will be available
Church to host annual car show
Putnam Congregational Church’s second annual car show will be held May 31 at 707 Masonic Park Road (Devola). Car registration starts at 10 a.m. The show will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be prizes, food, music, country store, and a limited number of dash plates. The rain date is June 21.

Church begins with new series
Marietta First Church of the Nazarene will be beginning a new series of lessons going through the Book of Hebrews on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. beginning May 14. The church is located at 100 Mill Creek Road, Marietta. The public is invited. Children and teen activities and college and career Bible study will also be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
