A Mother’s Day concert at WSCC

The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series of Washington State Community College will close out its 15th season with the annual Mother’s Day Concert & Tea featuring classical guitarist Ana Vidovic at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Graham Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. Afterward, those attending are welcome to enjoy free tea and cookies in celebration of Mother’s Day. Vidovic will be on hand to greet the audience at the tea.

Adoption fundraiser at Reno center

The Parks Family Adoption Fundraiser Dinner will be held Saturday at the Marietta Township Community Center in Reno. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children at the door. Doors open and a silent auction beings at 4 p.m. with dinner beginning at 4:30. The menu will include pulled pork, party potatoes, cole slaw, green beans, drinks and homemade desserts. Hot dogs, nachos and cheese will be sold separately. A live auction will begin at 6:30. Kent and Tina Parks are raising funds to adopt two girls from China.

Local author, flower expert in Beverly

The Friends of the Beverly Library are holding a tea from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. May 17to honor Faye Brawner, local author and nationally known geranium expert. Brawner’s book “Geraniums: The Complete Encyclopedia” has recently been added to the library’s collection and Brawner has become available to speak with anyone interested in geraniums or gardening. All interested gardeners are invited to attend the tea to meet and speak with her. The tea is free and open to the public.

Muskingum Twp. zoning meeting

Muskingum Township will hold a zoning meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Township Hall to continue discussions on updating the zoning resolution and map.

Meeting set for dog park volunteers

A meeting for those interested in volunteering at the Marietta dog park will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Jackson Hill Park activity shelter. The meeting will include a brainstorming session and volunteer sign-ups for summer projects. Hot dogs, condiments and water will be provided. Those who wish to bring a dish or dessert to share should call Teresa at 350-6249. Those attending should also bring a lawn chair.
