Driver in I-77 wreck identified
WILLIAMSTOWN- A Parkersburg woman is in stable condition after being ejected from her vehicle in a Wednesday night crash on Interstate 77 in Wood County near the Ohio border.
Deveena Drake, 21, was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital after the accident, which happened around 8 p.m., said Wood County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Shawn Graham.
The wreck happened near the Interstate 77 bridge in Williamstown, according to reports from the 911 Center.
Drake was traveling north when she lost control and struck the barrier between the north- and southbound lanes, Graham said. She was ejected and the car came to rest on its top, facing south in the northbound lane.
The report did not note what caused Drake to lose control, Graham said. The accident remains under investigation.
