Utilities relocation

at Pike, 7th work site

Utilities relocation will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the Seventh, Pike and Greene streets intersection in Marietta. One lane of traffic will be maintained. The work is expected to take two days to complete, weather permitting.

Benefit yard sale

at Highland Ridge

A benefit yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 6 and 7 at Highland Ridge Community Church, 2200 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell. Food and baked goods will also be available. Donated items will be from church and community members, with proceeds to benefit the church.

Benefit poker run

at Jarvis Farm Sat.

A benefit poker run for Rory Mead will be held Saturday at Jarvis Farm, 1704 Ellis Run Road. Sign-up is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with the ride at noon. The cost is $10 per rider. There will also be an auction, 50/50 and food. The event was rescheduled from May 17.

Gems of the Valley

nominations sought

The Marietta Times is seeking nominations for a new series, Gems of the Valley. Those nominated should be people who have done great things for their communities but have flown under the radar. Pasta dinner helps Secret Santa

There will be a pasta dinner fundraiser for the Washington-Morgan Community Action Secret Santa Program from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today in the fellowship hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta. The meal includes a choice of meat sauce or vegetarian sauce on pasta, salad, bread, dessert and drink. Tickets are $8 or $4 for children under 5 and will be sold at the door and at Washington-Morgan Community Action, 218 Putnam St. There will also be a country store.

The Secret Santa Program is a supplemental gift program that matches children of underprivileged families of Washington County with donors willing to provide Christmas gifts.
