Special fair board meeting Tuesday

A special meeting of the Washington County Fair Board will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the Fourth of July celebration and circus planning.

MHS Class of 1950 plans monthly lunch

The Marietta High School Class of 1950 will hold its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Shoney’s in Marietta. All classmates and friends are welcome.

First Presbyterian offers free lunch

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The church is on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street.

Morning Rotary plans boat cruise and charity auction

The Marietta Morning Rotary Club will have its annual Valley Gem Boat Cruise and Charity Auction from 8 to 10 p.m. Aug. 7. This year’s featured charity is the Marietta Family YMCA. During the moonlight cruise there will be appetizers, a cash bar, a silent and a live auction. Morning Rotarians along with YMCA representatives are now collecting auction items and selling presale tickets for $25 each. Only 25 tickets will be sold at the door and they will be $30.

Potluck meal Sunday at Tunnel UM Church

Tunnel United Methodist Church will host a potluck meal at 6 p.m. Sunday, with ham provided. At 7 p.m., Jaime Fox will present “Highlights of a Teaching Experience in Thailand.” The public is invited. An offering will be taken to support her for this coming year, as this is a volunteer teaching position. Tunnel UMC is at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road.

MHS Class of 1954 will meet to finalize plans for 60th reunion

Members of the Marietta High School Class of 1954 will meet at the Harmar Tavern at 6 p.m. Wednesday to finalize plans for their 60th Reunion on July 18, 19 and 20. All class members are welcome.

Free lunch Saturday at Beverly UM Church

Beverly United Methodist Church will be sponsoring a free community lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The menu will be hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, watermelon, dessert and beverages. The church is at 700 Park St. in Beverly and is handicapped accessible. No reservations are required.
