Fisher-Price display at toy, doll museum

The Toy and Doll Museum, 206 Gilman Ave., Marietta, is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from May to October. On display is The Fisher-Price Toy Co., formed in 1931, toy collection constructed from number one ponderosa pine and decorated with brightly colored lithography. Despite the depression the company was an instant success in the toy industry. For three decades Fisher-Price became one of the world leaders in toy design and manufacturing. The company was sold to Quaker Oats Co. in 1969 and continues to live by the motto,”Our work is child’s play.”

Admission is $4 adults and $2 for children. Special tours can be arranged for groups of 10 or more during the week. For more information call 373-5900 or
