Benefit for woman with breast cancer

A benefit for Ginger Moore McConnell will be held at 4 p.m. July 11 at the Marietta Shrine Club. Dinner will include chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll for $10. There will also be a live auction, country store, 50/50 and a performance by Pickin’ on Country. McConnell is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Beverly will discuss street paving project, inspector wages

The Village of Beverly Council will hold a special meeting at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday to consider a street paving project and to determine the wages for a sewer line extension project inspector.

The village committee meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The regular council meeting for July will be held at 7 p.m. July 9.

The Board of Public Affairs meeting will be held at 5 p.m. July 16.

All meetings will be held in the village office, 919 Mitchell Ave.

BOE will consider year-end finances

There will be a special meeting of the Switzerland of Ohio Local Schools Board of Education at 8 a.m. Monday at 304 Mill St., Woodsfield. The purpose of the meeting is to consider year-end financials.

Grange will hold Pony Pull July 4

Little Muskingum Grange will hold its annual Pony Pull July 4 at the Bill and Twila Bowersock Farm, 5331 County Road 9, Marietta.

There will be pony classes for light, medium and heavy weights along with measure weight teams beginning at 9 a.m. There will be food sold, a country store and 50/50 drawings. Bring a lawn chair. All day entertainment $3 per person.

Tunnel UM Church will host a potluck

Tunnel United Methodist Church will host a potluck meal at 6 p.m. Sunday, with ham provided. At 7 p.m., Jaime Fox will be presenting “Highlights of a Teaching Experience in Thailand.” The community is invited to come. An offering will be taken to support her for this coming year, as this is a volunteer teaching position. Tunnel UMC is located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road.
