Fort Frye board committee to meet
There will be a Fort Frye Local Board of Education Building and Grounds Committee meeting at 5 p.m. Monday in the superintendent’s office located at Beverly-Center Elementary School, 510 5th St., Beverly.
Veterans Walk will be dedicated
There will be a dedication at noon Saturday of the Veterans Walk of Honor granite benches commissioned by the Veteran Service Commission and a picnic for all afterwards behind the Armory on Front Street in Marietta. There will be a dedication ceremony and picnic including hot dogs, sides and drinks. Those attending may bring a covered dish, salad or dessert.
MHS Class of ’68 dinner at Spagna’s
The Marietta High School Class of ’68 will meet for dinner at Spagna’s at 6 p.m. Monday. Please call Karen Rech Kidwiler to make reservations.
B/W open house to celebrate history
In celebration of 225 years of history in the Beverly/Waterford area there will be an open house showing quilts, post cards, pictures and antique items related to the area from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. The event is free. Everyone is invited to show items by having them at the Fifth Street Church of Christ by 9 a.m. on Friday. Please call 984-4037 or 236-8757 by Thursday evening to be sure there are enough tables for the displays.
Habitat for Humanity needs hay bales
The Washington County Habitat for Humanity is in need of old square hay bales at a current build site to help prevent soil erosion. Those that are willing to donate should call Habitat for Humanity at 373-9764.
Independence trustees to meet
The regular monthly meeting of the Independence Township Trustees will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the townhouse on Upper Archers Fork Road.
Breakfast offered at VFW Post 5108
VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta, will hold a breakfast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday and on July 13 and July 20. The cost is $5 per person. There will be a dinner of frog legs or chicken strips from 5 to 7 p.m. July 18. The cost is $8 per person.
