Gospel sing July 12 at Mount Herman

A gospel sing will be held at 7 p.m., July 12 at Mount Hermon Church on Ohio 550 in Amesville. There will be performances by Jimmy Howson and Justin and Rebecca McBride.

Tunnel UM men will meet for breakfast

The Tunnel United Methodist Men will meet for breakfast on Sunday, July 13 at 8 a.m. The men are scheduled to sing at the 9 a.m. worship service. All men are invited to attend.

12-week video on Genesis at North Hills

‘Be Our Guest’ at Harmony Hill July 20

“Be Our Guest” Day Junior Church will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 20 at Harmony Hill Baptist Church. It will be for children ages 5 to 12 and their parents at 41051 Trial Run Road, Brownsville, 6 miles north of New Matamoras. Every boy and girl who attends will be treated as VIPs with pictures taken, gifts given, and a special surprise VIP.

Music workshop at First Presbyterian

Let’s Make Music, Again! community music workshop will be held for kids 2nd – 6th grade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, July 21 through Thursday, July 24 at First Presbyterian Church in Williamstown.

They will learn more about music and rhythm, the music use in a worship service, make instruments, take part in a special service activity, learn from and meet special guest musicians and see how music can be used to care for self and others.

The workshop is free and lunch will be provided daily. You do not need to be a member of the church to attend.

Free lunch at First Presbyterian offered

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community on Tuesday, July 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street.

Christian school is accepting students

The Marietta Christian School is accepting students for the fall semester. Classes are offered for students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Classes will begin on Aug. 25.

The Marietta Bible College is accepting applications for the fall semester. Students living in the area may enroll on a full or part-time basis. Registration is on Sept. 3 with classes beginning on Sept. 4.

Myron K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church, continues his summer Bible Institute studies on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The topic on July 16 will be “God’s Calendar for the End Times.”

Services on Sunday, July 13 will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. with Guiler preaching.

First Presbyterian, Journey and Christ United Methodist

“Live like Christmas” is the theme for Vacation Bible School this year for the Christ United Methodist Church, the First Presbyterian Church and the Journey Church of Marietta. It will begin for the whole family on July 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the back yard of the Christ United Methodist Church, corner of Third and Washington streets, Marietta.

There will be ice cream, an advent calendar craft, puppet show and family fun. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Monday through Wednesday, July 14 to 16 from 9 a.m. until noon, will be a more traditional VBS for children who were 3 years old by Jan. 1, 2014 and potty trained, through completed 5th grade. For those three days, the children will learn about our Savior’s birth by experiencing several fun activities including: music, games, drama, crafts and snacks. They will learn that Christmas is every day.

Registration forms are available from each church. An offering collected during the week will be given to the Washington and Morgan County Community Action to help with their Secret Santa project.

Beverly UM, Beverly Presbyterian

Join the Beverly United Methodist Church and the Beverly Presbyterian Church for a joint Vacation Bible School on Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be, “Wilderness Escape: Where God Guides and Provides”. Children age 3 through sixth grade will journey with Moses and the Israelites as they escape Egypt and learn to trust God. A light meal will be served at 6 p.m. each evening to all participants before the fun begins.

Harmony Hill Baptist Church invites children of all ages to participate in Neighborhood Bible Club. Parr Hill Community Church at Beavertown, Ohio 7, will have a Vacation Bible School on July 14 to 17 nightly at 6 to 7:30 p.m. It will be for children 3 years to 12 years. Snacks will be served. The closing program will be July 17 at 6 p.m. for family and friends to see what the kids did during the week and also have a wiener roast. Crafts, games and singing will be enjoyed by all. The theme for this year sill be “Faith, Hope and Love.”

Belpre Heights U.M. Church and St. Mark’s U.M. Church will have a combined Vacation Bible School this year at 720 Clement Ave., Belpre. The theme will be “Son Treasure Island” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18; 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19; and after regular church service at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 there will be a luncheon, children’s VBS program and some games. “Where Kids Stand Tall for God” will be the theme for Vacation Bible School at Gilman United Methodist Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 20 through July 24. It is open to the public for ages 4 through 5th grade.

New Life Church Vacation Bible School with the theme “Blast Off – Launching Kids on a Mission of God’s Love” will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 26 and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, July 27.
