Pancake breakfast as fundraiser
The ARC of Washington County will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 27 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Franklin Street in Marietta. The menu will include pancakes, French toast, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. The price is a donation. Proceeds will be used to fund summer camp for students with special needs. There will also be a silent auction.
River City Comic Con July 27
River City Comic Con will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 27 at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta. The comic book and collectible show is family-friendly and there will be a costume contest. Admission is $2 for adults. Children 8 and under are admitted for free.
Car wash will be crew fundraiser
There will be a car wash sponsored by Marietta High School Crew from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Broughton Boathouse at 814 Gilman Ave., Marietta.
Golf event to raise money for cause
A miniature golf event to benefit the West Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Pioneer Family Golf Center, 712 Pike St., Marietta. Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under and those 55 and older and $8 for adults. Door prizes and refreshments will be provided. In the event of rain, the fundraiser will be held July 25.

Girl Scouts to earn award with play
The Barlow-Vincent Girl Scout Troop 1277 will earn its bronze award as members perform their play “Princess & Knight Day,” written by the scouts, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. July 29 at the Barlow Library. Those attending are invited to come dressed as their favorite prince, princess or knight. The play is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.

Church to present free movie
“God’s Not Dead,” the faith-based movie released in theaters this summer, will be presented by the Gravel Hill Baptist Church Family Movie Ministry at 7 p.m. Friday. GHBC is located at 33125 State Route 800 in Fly. Admission is free and an offering is taken at the end of each presentation to offset costs. Concessions include popcorn, nachos, candies and soft drinks.
