100th birthday celebrated
Isabel Christopher celebrated her 100th birthday on June 16 with a reception held in her honor given by her friends at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her son, Norman (Patty) Christopher, granddaughter, Susan Gephardt and several great-grandchildren were there to celebrate with her. She was congratulated on reaching the century mark with cake and punch.
She was born June 16, 1914, in Wilmington, Del. where she stayed until she was married. They then moved to Booth’s Corners, Pa. and retired to Sanibel Island in 1952 where they spent the remainder of their married life together.
She became a part of the Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation family in June 2009 where she has lived ever since. The staff reflected upon the wonderful stories that she has shared over the years of her life spent on Sanibel Island. She walked every night to the light house and ate ice cream every day. She and her husband enjoyed shelling and making characters out of them. There was a monument at the condominium in Sanibel that was placed in their honor which still stands today. She enjoys instrumental music, butterscotch candy and is extremely proud of the family which she came from.
