Summer Invasion coming to Marietta

Less than a month after defeating Rocky Reynolds for the championship belt at “Cage Rage” July 5, Pat “Big Al” Engle will be defending his title at MOV Championship Wrestling’s “Summer Invasion.”

The event will take place at Washington County Fairgrounds Aug. 2.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 7. Pre-sale tickets can purchased at for $15.

Engle said “Cage Rage” was about 50 tickets away from being a sellout, with around 700 people in attendance.

Along with stars like Sabu, Nikolai Volkoff, Bobby Fulton and Jack Massacre who were expected to wrestle, the crowd was also treated to surprise guests Shane Douglas (ECW), Virgil (WWE) and Robbie E (TNA).

Engle was impressed with the atmosphere at “Cage Rage” and how passionate the fans were about certain wrestlers.

“Bobby Fulton really drew a crowd. People went nuts over him. I couldn’t believe how people were swarming towards him,” Engle said, pointing out the he’d like to see people even rowdier at “Summer Invasion.”

“We want people bringing signs, ready to scream,” he said.

Expected to appear at “Summer Invasion” is Rockstar Underdog Tim Patterson, Butcher Glenn Chainey, Alexander Crowley, Tommaso Ciampa (Ring of Honor) and Kamala Jr., among others.

In the main event, Jesse and Brittney Neal will battle Robbie E and Angelina Love in a mixed tag-team match.

Engle will also defend his belt against an unknown opponent in an open challenge.

It should be another action-packed night in the ring.

Engle said that Robbie E will be leading a training seminar earlier in the day leading up to “Summer Invasion.”

For $50 apiece, it is a rare opportunity for fans and aspiring wrestlers. Some details are still being ironed out.
